Whirlwind end of week

The remainder of a week is a bit of a blur in terms of food.

Wed, I ate about 4 mini mandelines at french class, I didn't eat much all day and then when I got home I made myself a wed "krishna lunch" I made myself some pasta and salad with their dressing. They now sell it in packets where you just need to blend it with water and oil.  I ended up having at least two servings of this. Then later that night I decided to stay up and eat chips with cheese using up the remainder of my salsa.

On Thursday, I ended up going to the spring lunch at my department and ate some combination of BBQ chicken and sides. I have no idea what I ate but I did make some peppermint merange cookies and ate a few of those.

On Friday I went to another Spring end celebration and ate a ton of chicken, rice and beans, platains, potato salad and other stuff. I then went to see two of my friends graduate :) It was a lot of fun.  Afterwards I went to bible study and had a few cookies there.

On Saturday
I managed to not eat anything until about 9pm since I was so stuffed from Friday. I ended up eating takeout from the local mexican restaurant .

Tuesday

Today I had a glass of orange juice before heading off to school around 1100 ish

I then got hungry around 1300 and got a california roll for about $6 It wasn't great but I was no longer hungry. Instead of exercising I went to the grocery store and spent about $5 and headed home to drive back to the pottery studio. After leaving I convinced myself not to order food and went home to make salad and pasta. I had a package of the krishna dressing in powder form, it came out fairly well. I think i'm going to try and buy a few packs before I leave for the summer.
I then made cookies for french class I ate maybe 4 mini madeleine cookies.

Monday

I went to kung fu and sweat quite a bit. Before I left my apartment I had had some orange juice but nothing else. After I finished training I was invited to go get food with a friend who was also hungry. We ended up at the mexican place near my house so I ended up ordering nachos and I ate the entire thing. Right after I went home and fell asleep. I meant to set an alarm to wake up an hour later but I never actually set it. So I woke up almost 3 hours later. I then used the leftover mashed potatoes from the potato skins this weekend mixed it with butter, cheese and spices, rolled it in bread crumbs and baked it. I meant to mix in an egg to hold it together but I forgot. I then ate them with a mixture of ketchup and soy sauce. Wasn't too bad. No pictures from today realized it as soon as I finished eating. I've run out of bottled water so I've been drinking tea but it's not nearly enough so I will go to the store tomorrow.

weekend food

Saturday started with me waking up to watch the F1 qualifying, then I went back to sleep for a bit before getting up again to go to the pottery studio. I worked on 3 projects until just before 1700. I then decided to eat a few "potato skins" I baked 3 potatoes scooped out a little bit of the insides, about a cup worth. Then I put in shredded cheese, and melted it. When it came out of the oven I topped it with a mixture of salsa and avocado then added a bit of sour cream on top.

Later in the day I had some mashed potatoes and chicken topped with tomatoes, with a side of garlic bread (about 1/4th of a loaf). A friend made it while we watched the new Dr. Who episode.

Sunday I woke up early again to watch the F1 race. I decided to spend the rest of the day inside. I ate an egg salad sandwich made with 2 hard-boiled eggs and some japanese mayo on two slices of bread. I then made the other three potatoes like I had done the day before.

A few hours later I made myself a grilled cheese sandwich with the remainder of the avocado and slices of tomatoes.

before weekend

today I woke up with cramps and I had to go to school to take my test. So I drank a glass of orange juice and took a few pain killers and off I went.
Later, after the test I went to the pottery studio to do some work. After this I went back home and made omuraisu with the last of the filling I had and one egg.
I had just enough time to eat before rushing off to bible study.
At bible study I ate a small apple a few chips and carrots, then I saw the dip.. it was cream cheese with rotella (apparently tomato and chillies chopped up in a can with spices) beans and cheese on top. I dug in like crazy to the dip almost to the point of not leaving enough for other people. I then had a slice of fruit topped cookie "pizza"

Fridge finds

So I've finally decided (this Tuesday) I need to stop shopping so often. Since I had bought 4 hamburgers and only 3 hamburger rolls, I decided to use the loaf of bread I had bought earlier. I had one hamburger left so I split it in half and cooked it with sauteed onions, I toasted the bread with a few slices of cheese, added a slice of tomato and sour cream.

later in the say I had the same thing again with the other half of hamburger only this one had jalapenos.

Later I had a sweet tooth so I ate the rest of my mini M&Ms,  a piece of red bean mochi and a piece of bread with jam on it, the remainder of the waffle batter with more jam on it and a little sliver of the cheese I made. However I couldn't eat the entire slice.

The next day I went to a potluck so I manged to not eat anything before going to school but was given two chocolate hand, and made sugar cookies with a little food coloring in it for the potluck. I didn't manage to take any pictures at the potluck, but I know I had a brownie, cupcake, 2 pieces of cornbread with chillies in it, and a bunch of other stuff.

Today I ate omuraisu made with leftover filling I had in the fridge and one egg with ketchup as garnish before I went to teach my last class of the semester. I then went to kung fu for a little bit, then I came home to make "cupcakes" for the birthday party potluck that I went to. So I wouldn't eat too much at the potluck I decided to have another serving of omuraisu before the potluck.
I brought the remaining sugar cookies from the potluck the previous day, and made meatloaf cupcakes. I found a recipe here for turkey zucchini meatloaf, and I made my own version of garlic mashed potatoes with roasted garlic. I only had one cupcake but I really liked it. I glazed the cupcakes with a mixture of ketchup, white vinegar, brown sugar, and mustard powder before I put the mashed potatoes on top.

I think I might make this again for myself, but with more veggies.

A long monday

Today I woke up around 10am (I went to sleep around 3am) I finally vacuumed my entire apartment! (I usually end up just vacuuming half a room at a time). I went to school around 1130, then I went to kung fu around 1500. I was able to do the warmup but not much else, it was very hot and I am out of shape. I saw someone test today and it looks scary I know I'm going to do it but I'm not going to push it any earlier than I have to.

At about 1700 I made myself a hamburger and fries. The hamburger had lettuce, tomato, avocado, mayo, sauteed onions and sauteed jalapenos. I put shreaded cheese on the fries and dipped them into ketchup and soy sour cream.

I had to go back to school until 2300. Considering the last time I ate was 6 hours before and I need to stay up to do laundry I made myself another hamburger, this time without fries since I ate them all earlier. This hamburger had lettuce, fried onions, fried jalapenos, soy sour cream, cucumbers, and avocado.

weekend

On Saturday I stayed in again for most of the day.  I went to an orientation for the new fitness center they are trying to add to my complex. There I picked up two bananas.

I ate omuraisu twice.

At night I went over to a friend's house to watch the new Dr. Who episode. I'm not quite sure I like where they're going with this doctor. The angry doctor was way more entertaining than the sappy doctor.

While at my friend's house we ate hamburgers and french fries. I topped my burger with cheese, lettuce, tomato, sauteed onions, fried jalapenos.

Sunday  I ate more omuraisu using one egg. It rained most of the day so when there was a break in the rain I ran to the store and bought hamburger meat, buns, fries, orange juice and a few other things.

For dinner I made myself a hamburger with lettuce, tomato, cheese, fried jalapenos, sauteed onions, avocado, mustard and mayo. I had sour cream and ketchup to dip the french fries in.

Sometime later, around 1am I wasn't that hungry but wanted to eat so I went to cleverbot to ask if i should eat more and it said yes. I
realize this isn't the best way to make decisions but I went with it. I made more french fries covered in shredded cheese, topped with onion and jalapenos and avocado.

a night in

So yesterday I decided not to leave my apt. So I started the day with the leftover sweet potato tater-tots dipped into soy sauce.

Sometime later in the afternoon I decided to make waffles so I ended up eating 3 of them with some maple syrup

Around 2130 I finally decided to leave my apt to go get a package.  So I also stopped at the grocery store to pick up some more eggs among a few other things (I need to limit grocery shopping to once a week maybe twice....)
around 2300 I decided to drink some orange juice... it just happened to have vodka in it.

Around the second drink I decided I needed to eat something, so I made rice and mixed in an egg and soy sauce which is cheap and yummy.

After the third drink I decided it would be a good idea to have a sandwich. I had honey wheat bread with cheese(toasted), and added turkey, lettuce, tomato, mayo and dijon mustard. It came out a bit salty.

Night out

So yesterday I started with a glass of orange juice before teaching (which happens way too early in the morning)
I then worked out around 1300 graded papers and was invited to go out to dinner with a group of friends around 2030. Around 2000 I was so hungry that I decided to eat lettuce with slices of cheese and mustard. I wrapped it up and it was yummy!

So then I went to a Chinese restaurant with a few friends. I managed not to bring my camera, but we shared a bunch of items. My favorite was the roasted duck, but we also had a mushroom and bamboo dish, a spicy beef dish with veggies, sweet and sour fish fillet and shrimp dumplings, of course with rice :) The 5 of us split it which was nice.
After we went and got Boba tea, I had a regular sized drink of rose tea with the tapioca pearls in it.

It was a fun night out and even though I ate alot in one sitting It wasn't too bad. I really do like roasted duck but it has so much fat!

leftovers

Today is a day of leftovers, and thus no healthy eating for me.
I had a glass of juice for breakfast before going to school. I got hungry around noon but had to stay until 1500. When I got home I had pasta with meatballs and shredded cheese(no idea how much). I ended up eating two servings.

I also ate a few lemon squares.

After going to the pottery studio I decided to get takeout from the local Mexican resturant. Over the past year I have been ordering food from them at least once a week if not more, to the point of them knowing me by my order. (A sure sign you probably should eat better)
I usually get  jalapeno peppers stuffed with chicken and cheese, with re-fried beans and rice on the side. It comes with corn tortillas to wrap the stuff up in to eat. If I was smart I could use it for two meals but I usually eat it in one sitting.

down day

So today started out with me hitting the snooze button at least 6 times.
I wanted today to go well, so I mixed up a cleansing drink. In my bottle of water I drank about 8 oz or so of the 1.5 liters and then juiced 3 lemons and added maple syrup and cayenne pepper. I shook up the bottle and drank from it from 9am till 2pm. Then school happened which threw me for an emotional loop.

I made myself an amazing open faced sandwich. The recipe was for an avocado and chicken melts on food.com. I chopped up a chicken thigh marinated it for 10 min or so in lemon juice, garlic powder and black pepper. I then dredged it in potato starch and fried it veggie oil.
Then I mixed together an avocado and lemon juice with a bit of salt, one clove of minced garlic and a bit of black pepper. Then I used two pieces of honey wheat bread, toasted it lightly spread it with the avocado mixture topped with the chicken then grated a bunch of cheese on top(no idea how much). Then stuck the entire thing back into the toaster oven for about a minute.

After this I didn't need to keep eating but I made a grilled cheese sandwiched and put in the remaining avocado.

From here it went downhill, I went to a friend's place to watch the avengers and we got snacks. These snacks turned out to start with a sandwich, which was munster cheese toasted on a roll then vegenaise topped with low sodium turkey, lettuce, tomato and dijon mustard.  Of course I forgot to take a picture before eating.
We then had sweet potato tator tots then I made a tray of lemon bars which I probably ate most of.

3rd

I spent all night being more or less productive so I went to sleep around 430. Then I woke up at about 1030 and had a plum around 1100.
I also packed myself lunch which I ate around 1530. I used one egg, and .2oz of mayo mixed with a pinch of salt and way too much pepper(it just kind of poured out) and one slice of bread to make egg salad sandwich again. I then sliced about a sixth of an apple and half of a small cucumber. I packed it all in my bento box this morning to eat.

Even after waiting about half an hour after eating lunch I was still hungry.

So I re-heated 7oz of pasta 2.25oz of meatballs and .85oz of cheese mixed it up and put it in a bowl.

I took a nap after eating which probably wasn't the best idea...
After getting up I went to the store and got a light caesar salad kit from the grocery store. I mixed it up with a boiled egg.

And I should have just gone to bed after all this since it wasn't quite a bad day but I was still hungry so I cut up a few slices of cheese(about .9oz) and topped it with mustard(.25oz)  :) (Bread just mucks up the taste!)

Enemy code name "couch"

Today I woke up at about 10am with a stomach ache from something I ate yesterday. I am still not sure what, but the only thing I can think of is possibly the meatballs I made or the frozen spinach or maybe even the bit of the canned spinach I ate.
I started the day (around 11) with a small glass of orange juice, and this is when I first sat down on the couch. I had every intention of watching the church service online but I couldn't connect to the server so instead I ended up looking through my videos and realizing I am one season away from finishing all of Sailor Moon save one special. So I turned on that special and proceeded to continue my cheese making project from the previous day.
I still had the loaf of bread from the previous day since it was buy one get one free. So I heated up about 6 oz of pasta sauce and mixed it with about 1.25oz of the cheese I bought at the store. I then heated up the loaf of garlic bread and ate it all.

It took me at least an hour or two to finish the entire meal by this time I had the bright idea to start watching a Japanese drama on my computer. I was watching Rich Man, Poor Women and the show fixed me to my seat for most of the day. (Yes I did manage to watch 9 episodes of it in one sitting)
Several episodes in I decided to snack on some of the mini M&Ms I had bought to make cookies with last week. I finished off just over an ounce of these.
By the last episode I decided to eat some of the cheese I made earlier in the day, I sliced up a tomato and the cheese, smeared some basil paste on the plate and drizzled olive oil on top of it. I'm lactose intolerant, so the cheese I was trying to make with lactose free milk didn't come out as it should have but it wasn't half bad.

In between I've drunk just over 1.5 liters of water. I know I shouldn't buy bottled water but I don't like the tap water in my town and when I tried just filtering it my water consumption dropped drastically and I started feeling ill.

Again I started the day off well, and went off track in the middle there.

Saturday, 6 April 2013

First Day (of the re-start)

Today I woke up and went to the health food store to buy rennet and citric acid. I have been wanting ravioli for a while now so am going to try making quick cheese with lactose free milk. On my way back I stopped at the grocery store to pic up some lactose free whole milk, and saw the Cabot cheese was buy one get one free. So I picked up two. I've been eating grilled cheese sandwiches so I have a loaf of honey wheat bread. I slathered two slices with butter and a little basil on one slice, then put some of the cheese on the bread with two slices of tomato and grilled it up. I could probably eat about  3 or 4 of these sandwiches in a sitting if I put my mind to it.

After this I got a knock on my door, where a friend invited me to go with him to the gym. I may not go on my own but I am much more likely to go if you come to my house :) . So after cleaning up the kitchen a bit and getting ready I spent about 25 minutes on the elliptical and worked on a few weight machines, was even able to bench press the bar 7 or 8 times (yes this is an accomplishment for me!)

When I got home I decided to try an egg-salad recipe, I had picked up some eggs from the store as well and hard boiled 3. I took two of them and mashed them up, mixed with a healthy squeeze of japanese kewpie mayo, some salt and pepper and a pinch of confectioners sugar.  I slathered it between two pieces of honey wheat bread and realized this has got to be my favorite egg salad sandwich yet!
Hungry again, 2 hours later, I decide on eating a plum and some left over rice(4.25oz) with butter(.25oz).

So I ended the day by over-stuffing myself on pasta. Went to a friend's house to watch the latest Dr. Who episode. Before hand I ran to the grocery store and got about a lb of ground beef and then I saw that pasta was $1 per box and buy one get one free on garlic bread. So I went over to my friends and made a box of pasta, with tomato sauce and meatballs, garlic bread, then to be healthy I added some spinach. I tried to make spinach out of a can but the color was more brown than green and had an awful smell and taste, luckily my friend had some frozen spinach in his fridge. I had two full helpings with probably just under half a loaf of garlic bread.
